Palace of Illusions
90x64cm, charcoal on paper, 2021
The „Palace of Illusions” was created as a result of meditation and exploring the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta. In a symbolic way, it shows my willingness to reach the basic principles governing the world and their illusory nature. I only used black and white to emphasize the nondual nature of the world, which translates into the inability to experience the first color without the second. I also wanted to refer to the infinite illusion of space that is created at the junction of contrasting planes.
